Flights
From Outside Portugal: Several international Airlines (TAP, Tui, Ryanair, Easyjet, Norwegian, Delta) offer direct flights from the US and Europe to São Miguel Island. A local flight service operated by Azores Airlines (part of the SATA Group) connects this island with daily flights to Santa Cruz das Flores Airport (FLW).
From Inside Portugal: SATA or TAP connect from the mainland cities of Lisbon, o Porto, Faro and Madeira to São Miguel and other Azorean Islands from the Central Island Group (Horta, Pico, Terceira), which then can be used as hub to transfer Flores.
Ferry Service
In summer, ferries connect Flores with its sister island Corvo as well as the islands from the Central group (Faial, Terceira and Pico). The timetable for these ferries can be found on the following website.
Rental Cars
We are regularly asked if it’s necessary to hire a car. The answer no but it depends on your own taste and budget. There are plenty of walks round Fajã Grande to occupy you as well as taxi and tour companies that can take you where you need.
However if you wish to explore the island at your own leisure, there a number of rental car operators are available at the airport:

Buses
UTC is the public Bus Company serving the Island.The bus from Santa Cruz das Flores runs twice a day directly to Fajã Grande at 08:35 and 17:50, taking around 45 minutes. There are other services throughout the day, however this require a stop in Lajes das Flores. The full island timetable can be viewed here.
Please note that the buses are not scheduled to meet flights or ferries and are more timed based upon the working day and school timings.
